Destination: El Progreso, La Ceiba and surrounding villages, Rio Viejo
Description: July is a jam-packed trip from beginning to end. The weather is HOT, the travel is LONG, but the reward is immense! We travel from San Pedro Sula through El Progresso on our way to LaCeiba and into the Cangrejal River Valley carrying needed supplies to our partners ProNino’s and HHK. Along the way we will visit several orphanages, the Jungle School, and the Naval Academy in La Ceiba sharing the Love of Christ, teaching and ministering to kids and soldiers alike. We will work closely with our partners Helping Honduras Kids and Eagles Nest Church, delivering food and clothing to remote and needy villages. Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is our primary objective and we take every opportunity to communicate the Love of Christ. Alongside our partners we participate in street side ministry, door to door evangelism, and sharing the truth of God’s word on Honduran TV as part of the Eagles Nest Church outreach. July is the only time the roads are safe enough for us to travel up the mountain to visit our friends at Instituto El Rey delivering supplies and sharing the gospel with their students. We will also deliver supplies to the Jungle Hospital across the road. We try to set aside one day to rest and visit the Adventures in Christ land project. As part of our land project we are developing a Camp that will be open to local churches as well as a sustainable farm that will provide supplemental food to the local ministries we serve. On our day off, you may choose to enjoy an adventure at the Jungle River Lodge such as hiking, ziplining, or river rafting or you may choose to spend time visiting with the caretakers and children on the land.
We are looking for people who are willing to serve. If you don’t mind getting dirty, hot, and sweaty; if you love being part of a team, are willing to be flexible and adapt as needs arise, and want to love on kids and adults alike then this trip is for you.
